Use Your Small Change to Change Someone's Life Today

Operation Round Up is a voluntary United Power program where members elect to have their monthly billing statement rounded up to the next whole dollar. Money collected through the program is used to provide assistance to community organizations within the cooperative's service territory. The average donation from members is only $.50 each billing cycle. That small change adds up quickly. Operation Round Up celebrated 25 years in 2020, and since its inception, the program has returned more than $2 million to individuals, families and charitable groups.

When you elect to participate in Operation Round Up, your monthly billing statement will automatically be rounded up to the next whole dollar. For example, if you owe $40.50 on your next billing statement, that will be rounded up to $41.00.

That extra $.50, or an average of $6 per year, goes a long way in helping people in your community. 

All contributions to Operation Round Up are administered by a board of local residents who are members of your community and people who understand the unique needs of the area. The Foundation provides block grants to partner organizations that provide direct assistance to United Power members, and periodically awards grants to non-profit groups that serve the community. United Power covers all administrative costs for the program to ensure every donated dollar is distributed to worthy groups or organizations that serve United Power members. 

The Operation Round Up board meets quarterly to consider applications. The meetings take place in January, April, July, October and December.

Applications should be received by the last day of the month prior to the next scheduled quarterly meeting. For instance, an applications must be received by March 31st to be considered at the board's April meeting. Awards will be distributed after those meetings.
